Nitra County Notitia by Matthias Bel (interpretation and application) - research fellow, APVV-18-0196 (2019 - 2023). The project, in which the departments of four universities in Nitra, Trnava and Zvolen together with the Institute of Archaeology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences participate, is to contribute to a more comprehensive research and interpretation of Matej Bel's work in terms of philological, historical, or historical-geographical, ethnological or archaeological research over the course of five years. The results of the interdisciplinary study of Bel's work can be effectively applied to the revitalisation of regional identities on the example of historical landscapes, historical landscape structures and ethno-cultural phenomena by applying a cultural itinerary that would bring closer the historical, natural and social phenomena of the territory on the basis of the knowledge gained from the interpretation of Bel's work. The essence and the aim of the project is the Slovak translation of the Latin original of the Knowledge of the Nitrian County (lat. COMITATUS NITRIENSIS) and its study from the point of view of history/historical geography, archaeology, ethnology and museology.

History of German population in Slovakia: university textbook – principal researcher, FPPV-20-2022 (2022 – 2022). The territory of Slovakia since long ago has been a meeting place for ethnic communities and different cultures. The German population, which came here gradually in several colonization stages, left a significant mark here. The time disparity of the arrival of individual groups of German population also resulted in geographical heterogeneity of settlement. As a result of the interplay of political and economic circumstances, three basic settlement areas were formed on Slovak territory, in which a substantial part of the members of German minority lived. Each of them was characterized by its own specifics shaped by the nature of economic activity, religious and political orientation. The aim of the presented project is to compile and publish scripts focused on the history of German population in Slovakia, which would introduce students of history and related humanities to the historical context, importance and contribution of German minority in the historical development of Slovakia. Although several monographs focusing on German minority in Slovakia have been published in the recent past, there is still no textbook that would be a comprehensive teaching aid for the needs of students.
Holzhackerland. The Slovak mountains as the living space of German-speaking lumberjacks - huncokars - principal researcher, FPPV-28-2023 (2023 – 2023). The Huncokars, who were part of the German minority, came to the territory of present-day Slovakia from the first half of the 18th century. In the given period, they mostly inhabited the forest areas of Little Carpathian and White Carpathian mountains. Professionally, they were focused on work in forestry. They were most often engaged in logging, burning charcoal and lime, but also wheeling, carving, etc. Some of them also practiced the professions such as: woodsman, forester and hunter. Huncokars built almost no compact settlements, they lived in solitudes that were several kilometers away from each other. For decades they persisted as an endogamous and ethnically closed community. The extinction of their specific life in the mountainous environment was caused by societal events that occurred after 1945. The aim of the presented project is, in addition to the analysis of the Little Carpathian settlement of huncokars, also the processing of the acquired archival sources about huncokars who moved to other Slovak mountain areas at the beginning of the second half of the 19th century (Považský Inovec, Strážovské vrchy, Pohronský Inovec, Tribeč). The importance of the project lies primarily on the fact that the first comprehensive monograph on the huncokar settlement in the whole of western Slovakia will be published as part of it.
Soil in the Mirror of Science: Presentation of interdisciplinary results for awareness expanding (PIDVE) - research fellow, 09I01-03-V04-0003 (2024 – 2026). The project Soil in the Mirror of Interdisciplinary Science (PIDVE) is designed to examine the importance of land in contemporary society. Follows the project 101112707: LOESS (Literacy boost through an Operational Educational Ecosystem of Societal actors on Soil health), funded by Horizon Europe analyzing the soil curriculum in 17 European countries, proposing and testing new land education models. PIDVE complements it with new scientific knowledge and Slovak historical-ethnological contexts. It identifies information and visuals that affect brain activity and emotions and represent attractive documents for modern education. Various forms of visualization, simulations of virtual reality and exhibitions will increase the interestingness and clarity of scientific information for different target groups. The project connects scientific knowledge and applies on examples of good practice in ecotourism and ecological soil cleaning. It combines education, research and public awareness in the field of land and its importance for community relationships and sustainability.

Spatial differentiation of the natural movement of the population in Slovakia from the end of the 19th century until the end of the 20s of the 20th century - research fellow, VEGA 1/0231/23 (2023 – 2025). The period from the end of the 19th century to the end of the 20s of the 20th century brought several significant historical changes to Slovakia, which was also significantly reflected in the nature of the individual demographic processes of the natural movement of the population. Clearly one of the most important transformation shifts was the onset and gradual spread of the historically unique quantitative-quality and inherent in the essentially unreistant transformation of reproductive behavior. It was called Demographic Revolution (Transmation). It was closely tied to the socio-social and cultural changes of the period. The dynamics and the extent of its spread was very cultural and socially differentiated, which was largely reflected in significant spatial differences. It is the identification, deeper analysis and efforts to interpret the spatial differentiations of the natural movement of the population in Slovakia through the end of the 19th to the end of the 20s of the 20th century is the main goal of the project.

The final phase of ethno-language assimilation. On the example of a German ethnic group in the village of Krahule and its surroundings - research fellow, VEGA 1/0280/23 (2023 – 2025).
Historical-ethnographic analysis of specific groups of German-speaking population in Slovakia - principal researcher, FPPV-44-2025 (2025). The territory of contemporary Slovakia was a long time to collide diverse cultures and ethnicities, which was finally reflected in its multiethnic character. One of these ethnic groups was the population of German origin, whose more significant presence is assumed in the first decades of the existence of the Kingdom of Hungary. Different periods of the arrival of individual groups of the German population in addition to another led to the geographical heterogenic of German settlement. As a result of the interplay of several circumstances (especially political and economic), three basic settlement areas (Bratislava and its surroundings, Hauerland, Spiš), which inhabited a substantial part of Slovak Germans, were formed in the Slovak territory. Each settlement area was characterized by its own specifics, the created nature of economic activities, political or confessional orientation. The aim of the present project plan is to compile and publish a monograph of a scientific character. The final work would bring the wider audience of readers (students, lay and professional public) closer to the historical context of the development of selected ethnographic groups of German origin. In recent years, several decades have been published several monographs concerning Slovak Germans, but so far there has not been a work that would have been more comprehensive to present the issue of lesser -known German -speaking ethnographic groups (habans, huncokars, handrbulci, šajtárs, or swabians).
