Podcasts as an Innovative Part of teaching General History of the 20th Century ‒ principal researcher, principal researcher, KEGA-008UCM-4/2022 (2022 ‒ 2024).

The main goal of the research team from the Department of Historical Sciences and Central European Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava is to extend the traditional full-time study of general history of the 20th century to the online space. The target groups are not only university students, but also teachers and students of selected secondary schools, or the professional and general public. In addition, the online environment greatly facilitates access to education for students with specific needs, students with an individual study plan or primary and secondary school teachers attending additional pedagogical studies. The output of the project is at least 15 podcasts, freely available on the YouTube platform or within popular podcast applications. The podcasts will be augmented and supplemented in content by a university textbook. It will be freely available on the website of the faculty and the department, as well as published in a classic book form. The research team also aims to establish a recording studio at the UCM Faculty of Arts using grant funds. The aforementioned studio will be used to implement the objectives of the project and will also be made available to members of the academic community of the UCM Faculty of Arts. Podcasts are an innovative and attractive didactic medium in the teaching of history, especially during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The know-how of the project leader in the field of podcasting and in the implementation of e-learning in practice is the main prerequisite for the achievement of the project's objectives. The deputy head of the project has several years of experience in editorial work.

Transformation of population development in Slovakia in a regional perspective from the end of the 19th to the middle of the 20th century ‒ co-researcher, APVV-20-0199 (2021 ‒ 2025).

The main goal of this project is the synthetic analysis of the transformation of demographic processes in Slovakia's population from the end of the 19th century to the middle of the 20th century with an emphasis on the regional dimension within identified conditionalities of socio-economic, cultural, and other structural changes taking place during the period. The basis for the fulfilment of this goal will be the creation of a unique database of input data (a historical demographic handbook) and indicators constructed from this data that will enable a detailed comprehensive analysis of the development and nature of individual demographic processes at the national level and particularly at the regional level. Following that, the project will focus on the compilation of maps and a compiled atlas presenting the transformation of the reproduction of the Slovak population and some identified conditional factors in space and time and a synthesis in the form of a published monograph.

The impact of the Munich agreement and the Vienna Award in 1938 on chemical industry in Slovakia ‒ principal researcher, FPPV-43-2024 (2024 ‒ 2024).

From second half of 1936, there began to rise production, consumption and employment in chemical industry. The following conjectural boom was not disrupted until the Munich agreement and the Vienna Award. The procect is focused on impact of territorial changes in the year 1938 concerning the monitored industry. 

Chemical Industry in Slovakia in the 1930s ‒ principal researcher, FPPV-25-2023 (2023 ‒ 2023).

During the Czechoslovak interwar period, chemical industry in Slovakia belonged to relatively minor ones due to the number of workers. Its importance consists in the production of strategic goods and intermediates, which were essential for the state defence and performance. The main goal of this project is to “transform“ the archival material and literature obtained so far (in Slovakia and abroad) into a scientific monograph. Its significance will mainly lie in the fact that it will fill an “empty space“ within Slovak historiography. The monograph will be the result of my own long-term research. 

Chemical Industry and Pharmaceutical Production in Slovakia during the Interwar Period ‒ principal researcher, FPPV-23-2021 (2021 ‒ 2021).

During the Czechoslovak interwar period, chemical industry in Slovakia belonged to relatively minor ones due to the number of workers. Its importance consists in the production of strategic goods and intermediates, which were essential for the state defence and performance. In a case of pharmaceutical production, in the context of a given period, we can talk about a "dwarf industry", however with great importance for population health. The presented project aims to help obtain archival material (both in-country and abroad), which is the necessary base for writing at least three scientific studies. Their significance will lie mainly in the fact that they will fill the "white spot" in Slovak historiography. There is relatively little space given to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry in Slovakia in historiography.
