VI.5 - Participation in conducting (leading) the most important research projects or art projects over the last six years

APVV-0199-21 Transformation of population development in Slovakia in a regional perspective from the end of the 19th to the half of the 20th century (2021-2025), the principal researcher is P. Tišliar.

The period from the end of the 19th century to the middle of the 20th century brought about several historical changes in Slovakia, including a unique and irreversible quantitative and qualitative transformation of reproductive behaviour. Despite its great importance for a comprehensive understanding of the Slovak population and its social development, there is only a very limited base of knowledge on this phenomenon. The main reason for this is the absence of a detailed database at a regional as well as national level. International research shows that these changes did not take place in the whole population at once. Instead, individual populations developed differently over time regarding the speed of these changes as well as within different subpopulations classified on regional, social, ethnic, religious, and other criteria. Therefore, it is important to comprehend the impact of regional differences and their factors in understanding the onset, spread, and dynamics of change. The main goal of this project is the synthetic analysis of the transformation of demographic processes in Slovakia's population from the end of the 19th century to the middle of the 20th century with an emphasis on the regional dimension within identified conditionalities of socio-economic, cultural, and other structural changes taking place during the period. The basis for the fulfilment of this goal will be the creation of a unique database of input data (a historical demographic handbook) and indicators constructed from this data that will enable a detailed comprehensive analysis of the development and nature of individual demographic processes at the national level and particularly at the regional level. Following that, the project will focus on the compilation of maps and a compiled atlas presenting the transformation of the reproduction of the

Slovak population and some identified conditional factors in space and time and a synthesis in the form of a published monograph.

MŠSR VEGA No. 1/0231/23 Spatial differentiation of natural population movement in Slovakia from the end of the 19th century to the end of the 1920s, principal investigator P. Tišliar

The period from the end of the 19th century to the end of the 1920s brought several significant historical changes in Slovakia, which were significantly reflected in the character of individual demographic processes of natural population movement. Clearly one of the most important transformational shifts was the onset and gradual spread of a historically unique quantitative-qualitative and inherently irreversible transformation of reproductive behaviour. This was called the demographic revolution (transition) and was closely linked to the socio-social and cultural changes of the period. The dynamics and the extent of its spread were themselves highly culturally and socially differentiated, which was largely reflected in marked spatial differences. It is the identification, deeper analysis and an attempt to interpret the spatial differentiations of natural population movements in the territory of Slovakia, mainly from the late 19th to the late 1920s, that is the main objective of the project.

MŠSR VEGA č. 1/0113/17 Population and family policy in Slovakia in the 20th and 21st centuries, MŠSR VEGA no. 1/0113/17, realized in the years 2017-2019, the main responsible researcher is prof. PhDr. Pavol Tišliar, PhD., Solved in cooperation with the Prognostic Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, representative of RNDr. Branislav Sprocha, PhD. http://khist.ff.ucm.sk/docs/VPCH_Tisliar.pdf

Main output: Collective: Population and family policy in Slovakia in the 20th century. -: 1. vyd. ISBN 978-80-89881-18-5. - Bratislava: MKD, 2019

The result of the project is several studies that evaluate selected parts of public policies in a broader historical context, related to

the population policy implemented in Slovakia over the past 100 years. We also pointed out the differences in population policy during Czechoslovakia.

MŠ SR KEGA č. 016STU-4/2017 An interdisciplinary approach to the protection of cultural and natural heritage, MŠ SR KEGA no. 016STU-4/2017, implemented in the years 2017 - 2019. Responsible researcher prof. Ing. arch. Bohumil Kovac, PhD. (Faculty of Architecture STU), in cooperation with FiF UK and FiF TU in Trnava, deputy of principal researcher for FiF UK prof. PhDr. Pavol Tišliar, Ph.D. https://kdtop.sk/

The project was implemented on the example of the old hospital in Topoľčany. It brought together architects, monuments, historians, museologists, ethnologists, landscape ecologists, human geographers, and other specialists in order to carry out

monument research and design solutions for the preservation and preservation of the cultural monument area.

MŠSR VEGA č. 1/0097/20 A small history of large events: censuses and file events in Slovakia in the years 1919 - 1950, MŠSR VEGA no. 1/0097/20, implemented since 2019. principal responsible researcher P. Tišliar. The project is solved in cooperation with the Prognostic Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, represented by RNDr. Branislav Sprocha, PhD. http://khist.ff.ucm.sk/docs/VPCH_Tisliar.pdf

The project is devoted to the analysis of censuses and census actions in the years 1919-1950 in order to analyze and evaluate the

preparatory process of these actions, their implementation, and evaluate the results as a source of population development in Slovakia.
